Low group rates for Term Life Insurance

Manulife logo

Certified technicians and technologists and their families can take advantage of low group rates offered through the Engineers Canada-sponsored Term Life Insurance Plan. Because group life insurance usually costs less than individual life insurance, you can benefit from the buying power of over 49,000 of your peers already insured under this Plan. Rates are kept low, helping you to afford as much protection as your family needs. You can even use this Plan as an affordable alternative to mortgage insurance.

As a member of your provincial CCTT member association, you and your spouse can apply for coverage from $25,000 to $1.5 million each, with rates starting at just $0.97 a month. You can also enjoy 5-10% savings for coverage of at least $500,000.

If you’re not sure how much insurance your family might need, consult our online Needs Calculator. It helps you anticipate what your family might need in the future based on what you own, what you owe and what you spend today.

LMS Prolink Limited has been contracted to offer the same insurance services in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, P.E.I., Nova Scotia and Newfoundland – Labrador.  CCTT’s provincial associations in Ontario and British Columbia offer separate programs.

The CCTT program includes personal and professional protection, including legal fees, of $2,000,000 for civil litigation and from $250,000 to $2,000,000 in professional liability coverage.  It includes protection for civil litigation, for personal injury and material loss, as a direct or accidental result of errors and/or omissions by the insured in the performance of professional responsibilities.

The incidence of legal action against technicians and technologists is relatively rare and not expected to rise in the near future.  But the problem still remains that claims and legal fees are continually on the rise. The levels of professional risk vary from one profession to the next, and this package has been tailored to meet the specific needs of professionals (including seasonal and part-time workers) in the following four groupings:
