Project Description
The Canadian Technology Immigration Network is designed to increase Canada’s competitiveness in attracting, integrating and retaining foreign trained technicians and technologists. Central to this process is the need to increase the capacity of CCTT and its provincial constituent members to expedite foreign credential recognition and certification and to assist in facilitating immigrant integration. To accomplish this CTIN draws on a national network of stakeholders to provide foreign trained technicians and technologists with:
- Enhanced / accelerated credential recognition, technical skills and language assessment;
- Access to specialized technical skills and language training programs;
- Specialized labour market information and access to employer networks and employment opportunities;
- Linkages to immigrant serving agencies and immigrant employment councils offering complimentary programs and settlement services.
CTIN seeks to achieve the above objectives in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure the efficient coordination of and non-duplication of core services and activities. The final result is a mechanism that will better position Canada to complete internationally in attracting foreign trained technicians and technologists by providing information, tools, services and support that will accelerate their successful integration and retention in the labour market.
