Within its broader national skills development strategy, CCTT has identified the integration of skilled immigrants as a key priority for expanding the supply of Certified Technicians and Technologists in Canada. With funding support made available from the Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC), Foreign Credential Recognition Program, CCTT launched a 30 month project in March of 2009 that will facilitate the attraction of skilled immigrants from overseas, expedite the recognition of their foreign credentials, and facilitate their integration into Canada’s labour market. These objectives will be addressed through the creation of the Canadian Technology Employment Network (CTIN), comprised of partner organizations that include CCTT’s provincial associations, government agencies, academia, trade and industry associations, and immigrant serving agencies.
