CCTT Advances CTIN Partnership Development

CCTT staff have been busy conducting meetings nationwide in recent months establishing partnerships with key stakeholders that will support operations and service delivery for the Canadian Technology Immigration Network (CTIN).  A key objective of the CTIN project is to increase Canada’s competitiveness in attracting, integrating and retaining foreign trained technicians and technologists into the Canadian workforce.  Central to this process is the need to increase the capacity of CCTT and its provincial constituent members to expedite foreign credential recognition and certification and to assist in facilitating immigrant integration.

To accomplish this CTIN with draw on a national network of stakeholders to provide foreign trained technicians and technologists with:

CTIN will achieve the above objectives in partnership with key stakeholders to ensure the efficient coordination of and non-duplication of core services and activities.  The final result is a mechanism that will better position Canada to complete internationally in attracting foreign trained technicians and technologists by providing information, tools, services and support that will accelerate their successful integration and retention in the labour market.  CTIN’s  virtual partnership network will be linked and supported by an internet web portal that will provide information and tools to help foreign trained technology professionals assess employment opportunities, certification requirements, and to prepare themselves for integration in the Canadian labour market prior to their arrival in Canada.

To date CCTT has successfully concluded partnership meetings in 7 out of 10 provinces.  Meetings in the remaining provinces of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Quebec will take place in February.  The completion of this phase of the project will be marked by a meeting all partner stakeholders from across the county that will take place in May.
